Our Take on Cornèr Banca Cornèr4you

CHF 9 a month gets you a bank account, a savings account and a Cornèrcard Classic. Here's the catch.
Cornèr Banca's Cornèr4you ranks #48 among 48 private accounts in our ranking (2.9/5), just two points behind the three accounts above it. The CHF 108 package fee costs it points, and so do the transaction fees Cornèr doesn't publish, which our ranking scores as zero. It mainly makes sense if you already want a Cornèrcard.
Is the Package Worth It?
The cheapest package with a credit card costs CHF 9 a month, CHF 108 a year. It includes a current account, a savings account, a Visa Debit card, e-banking and the iCornèr app, plus a Cornèrcard Classic (Visa and Mastercard). Bought on its own, the Cornèrcard Classic costs CHF 100 a year from year two.
So the banking part effectively costs you CHF 8 a year on top of a card you'd pay for anyway. The maths gets better higher up: the Gold package is CHF 13 a month (CHF 156 a year), while a standalone Cornèrcard Gold costs CHF 190. If you don't want a Cornèrcard, though, CHF 108 is steep.
What Actually Stands Out
The bundling is the differentiator. You get two accounts, two cards and the apps for one monthly price, and you choose the card tier: from CHF 7 a month with the Cornèrcard Reload prepaid card up to CHF 14 with Miles & More Gold. Upgrading your card simply moves you up the ladder.
Cornèr Bank is a Lugano bank with a Swiss banking licence, so you get a native Swiss IBAN and deposits protected up to CHF 100,000 by esisuisse. The Visa Debit card pays contactless and works with the common phone wallets, and the iCornèr app handles transfers and Cornèrcard top-ups. For Ticino residents especially, that's a full local bank rather than just an app.
What Most Reviews Miss
Cornèr doesn't publish most everyday prices. Its public tariff covers statements, paper payment orders and securities, but not ATM withdrawals, SEPA transfers, debit card payments abroad or interest rates. Our ranking scores what isn't published as zero, and those gaps cost Cornèr4you far more than the two points separating it from #47. Ask for the full price list before you move your salary.
TWINT is the other friction point. There's no Cornèr bank TWINT, only the TWINT Prepaid app topped up from your account by direct debit, and linking it requires sole signing authority. That rules it out on an account where two people must sign together. And there's no package without a Cornèrcard: the cheapest, with the Reload prepaid card, still costs CHF 84 a year.
The Bottom Line
If you were going to pay for a Cornèrcard anyway, Cornèr4you turns that fee into a full bank relationship for a few francs more. If you weren't, a free account plus a separate card will cost you less. Our best private accounts in Switzerland ranking shows the cheaper options.
Verdict: Good value for Cornèrcard holders, especially at Gold level. Poor value for everyone else.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Does Cornèr Bank charge for account statements?
- Yes: CHF 40 as an e-document for a current account, CHF 100 by post in Switzerland and CHF 180 by post abroad, according to its 2026 tariff. Those prices cover quarterly statements, and monthly statements cost extra. Ask whether the Cornèr4you package covers them before you open it.
- Can I use TWINT with a Cornèr4you account?
- Only through the free TWINT Prepaid app, topped up from your account by LSV direct debit. Top-ups of up to CHF 200 land immediately; larger ones wait until the direct debit has been processed. To link the account you need sole signing authority and your Cornèr Visa Debit card for identification.
- How much does a paper payment order cost at Cornèr Bank?
- CHF 10 per order. Paying five bills a month on paper would cost CHF 600 a year, more than five times the CHF 108 package fee. Use Cornèronline or the iCornèr app for payments instead.
