Our Take on PKZ Insider Gold Card Visa

1% back on everything and 3% at PKZ, from a card that never charges an annual fee.
The PKZ Insider Gold Card Visa ranks #9 among 122 cashback cards and #5 among 29 student-friendly cards in our ranking. It's the top tier of PKZ's free Visa family, run by BonusCard (Cornèr Bank). If you want a no-fee card with a flat 1% and you shop at PKZ, it's hard to beat.
How Much Will You Actually Earn?
Spend CHF 15,000 a year and the 1% turnover bonus returns CHF 150. That's double the standard PKZ card and a third more than Silver, at the same CHF 0. It puts the Gold in the same league as the best free cashback cards in Switzerland, with no categories to track.
At PKZ it gets better. The 3% loyalty bonus on your annual PKZ sales plus the 1% turnover bonus means CHF 1,500 of PKZ shopping returns CHF 60. That's a 4% discount on clothes, on a card that costs you nothing to hold.
What Actually Stands Out
Gold gets the best PKZ extras: a selection of exclusive birthday gifts instead of the 10% birthday voucher, and a 10% voucher in every INSIDE magazine, which arrives four times a year. If you plan your PKZ purchases around those vouchers, the savings add up quickly.
You also get the same shopping cover as Silver: a best-price guarantee within 14 days, delivery insurance, a 24-month warranty extension and shopping legal protection, each requiring at least 50% card payment. The details are on BonusCard's PKZ page.
What Most Reviews Miss
The 2% FX fee eats the 1% bonus abroad. CHF 3,000 spent in euros costs CHF 60 in fees and earns CHF 30 back, so you're CHF 30 down. For holidays, pair this card with a low-FX card and keep the PKZ Gold for Swiss spending.
Applying isn't instant. The standard PKZ card has an online form, but Gold uses a paper application, and PKZ doesn't publish what it takes to get Gold rather than Silver. The CHF 100 PKZ Gift Card welcome offer is also worded for the PKZ Insider Card Visa, so check it covers Gold before you count on it.
The Bottom Line
For anyone who spends mostly in francs, this is one of the strongest no-fee cards in Switzerland, and PKZ regulars get 4% back on clothes. It sits at #9 in our best cashback credit cards in Switzerland ranking, ahead of several cards that charge an annual fee.
Verdict: The PKZ tier to get. Free, 1% everywhere, 3% at PKZ. Just don't take it on holiday.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What's the difference between the PKZ Gold and Silver loyalty bonus?
- 3% on Gold versus 2% on Silver, both calculated on your annual sales at PKZ. On CHF 2,000 of PKZ shopping a year, that's CHF 60 instead of CHF 40. Both cards cost CHF 0, so the extra CHF 20 is free money.
- How much does it cost to take CHF 50 out of a Swiss ATM with the PKZ Gold?
- CHF 10. The fee is 4.00% with a CHF 10 minimum, so the minimum applies to anything under CHF 250. That's 20% on a CHF 50 withdrawal. Abroad it's 6.00% with the same CHF 10 floor. Use your debit card for cash.
