75% global equities in a 3a, with a backtested decade near +90%. The fee and the fine print deserve a look.
Alpian Global Dynamic ranks #31 among 90 3a investment funds in Switzerland, comfortably in the upper half. It's the growth-tilted global plan: roughly 75% equities, 25% bonds, a 3-out-of-4 risk rating, and the widest international reach in Alpian's range. The backtested numbers are strong, but you're paying 0.76% all-in for a passive strategy, and those returns are simulated on indices rather than earned live.
Total cost is 0.76% (0.16% TER plus the 0.60% flat fee). That's roughly double what VIAC's growth plans charge and well above frankly's 0.44%. On CHF 100,000 you'd pay about CHF 760 a year here; over a multi-decade 3a horizon that compounding gap runs into five figures against the cheapest rivals.
Alpian frames the premium as private-banking-grade service. But this is a passive, index-tracking portfolio, so you aren't paying for a manager to pick winners. The extra cost buys the platform, the app and the advisory access, not superior fund selection.
It's a proper growth engine with global spread. At about 75% equities, only 46% of the book sits in CHF, so you get real international exposure across US, Swiss, European and emerging markets. The backtested 10-year return of +89.7% reflects that equity-heavy, worldwide tilt over a strong decade for global stocks.
The structure is passive and diversified through Alpian's BlackRock index funds, with a slim 25% bond sleeve for a little ballast. For an investor who wants aggressive growth but not the full 98% equity plunge, this is the sensible step down.
A 3-out-of-4 plan can still fall hard. The simulation shows 10.9% annualized volatility and a -42.2% maximum drawdown. That's not far off the all-equity plan's -50%, so "dynamic" rather than "very dynamic" doesn't buy you much crash protection. Only commit money you won't touch for a decade or more.
And the figures are backtested, hypothetical index returns from 2000 to 2025, not a live record. The 0.16% TER also quietly makes this a 0.76% plan, a cost tier above Alpian's 0.75% funds. If the passive portfolio merely matches its indices, that fee gap comes straight out of your net return versus cheaper growth 3as.
Global Dynamic is a credible high-growth 3a for someone who values the Alpian platform and can stomach a possible ~40% drop. Just be clear that the returns are simulated, the strategy is passive, and at 0.76% you're paying the top of Alpian's own range. Weigh it against proven, cheaper growth funds on our best Pillar 3a products page.
Verdict: A strong, globally diversified growth option if you buy into Alpian, but the premium fee on a passive strategy with a -42% drawdown means cost-focused investors have better-value choices.
